Malam kian pekat. Saya meneruskan langkah yang semakin longlai. Perut juga menyanyi kelaparan, berperang dengan mata yang minta ditutup (nak makan vs nak tidur). Otak memang letih, setelah berjam-jam diperah dan stress memikirkan rawatan dan tindakan pantas yang sesuai untuk pesakit yang datang bertubi-tubi ke pintu Accident & Emergency. Emosi? Susah kot nak senyum selepas habis oncall. Itu mungkin satu jihad. Oncall di bahagian Accident & Emergency sungguh memenatkan, kerana kita perlu sentiasa bersedia. Anything can walk in that door, walaupun mungkin keadaannya tidaklah se-dramatik cerita-cerita dalam tv.

Apabila kepenatan, bisa saja hilang motivasi dan lemah semangat. Hati tidaklah terlalu senang gembira melayan kerenah jururawat, selain dari ragam pesakit yang pelbagai. Tidak sedikit bilangan doktor yang sekali-sekala menyesali dan TERsebut ‘kenapalah dulu aku amik medic..’. Blaja susah, keje pun susah. Di celah-celah kesibukan dan stress doktor bekerja, atau bagi medical students yang sedang bergelumang dan hampir lemas dalam timbunan kitab-kitab medic, untuk mencari semula semangat yang hilang tidak mudah.

Namun, saya merasakan untuk merenung diri, mengingatkan, meluruskan dan memperbetulkan semula nawaitu dalam setiap amal adalah sangat penting.
“Setiap amal itu bergantung kepada niat.” (Hadith riwayat Bukhari&Muslim)
Kerana di situlah letaknya nilaian Allah, keredhaan Allah. Kalau kita cuma siapkan semua perkara itu seperti robot dan mesin, alangkah rugi. Dengan nawaitu yang benar, hendaknya kita akan lebih mengerti kenapa kita di sini, dan menaikkan kembali motivasi kita untuk meredah jalan yang masih panjang.

Ingatkah kita kepada malam-malam yang hening, ketika kita bersujud panjang dan airmata kita membasahi sejadah…

Kita sangat berdoa Allah mengurniakan kita result SPM yang cemerlang, agar kita boleh meneruskan cita-cita.

Kemudian kita menyambung berharap tanpa putus kepada Allah, penuh terharu, supaya Allah izinkan kita untuk dapat pergi oversea, untuk dapat biasiswa, untuk dapat fly, dan nak sangat dapat masuk Medical School, nak sangat-sangat… dan kita solat hajat penuh syahdu memohon setiap hari.

Pada satu ketika yang lain pula, kita menangis dalam doa-doa kita, kita panjatkan tawakal kepada Allah setinggi angkasa, penuh cemas dan takut, agar Allah meluluskan kita dalam peperiksaan tahun akhir pengajian perubatan kita, agar akhirnya dapat bergelar Dr!

.Doktor tidak bekerja dengan mesin seperti engineer, bukan juga dengan dokumen-dokumen seperti setiausaha atau bekerja dengan duit seperti akauntan. Tetapi doktor bekerja dengan manusia, perhatiannya kepada manusia, ilmunya tentang manusia, menghadapi sakit peningnya, keluhannya, keluarganya,hidup matinya. Ia fardhu kifayah, dan harusnya semua itu meninggalkan kesan kepada jiwa, membawa kita lebih hampir kepada Allah. Seandainya tidak, seandainya hati ini sudah mengeras seperti batu, seandainya kita sudah menjadi lali, sudah terlalu biasa tengok orang sakit dan orang mati hingga sukar mendetikkan keinsafan, maka doalah supaya hati itu digantikan saja dengan hati yang lain!

p/s: besar kan tanggungjawab jadi doktor ni? wat lek wat peace lah weh. kalau nak jadi doktor semata-mata untuk duit, harhar suka hati kau lah. Tapi kerjaya ni banyak saham kt akhirat....

Let's see. oh. it's July already! that means that I have less than 3 weeks to prepare for that biggg trial spm exam of mine. haih.

there's tonnes of things that i want to do,

but simply cannot because of SPM.

you see, sacrifices are to be made for greater things to be achieved.

i'm aware of that, but i didn't fathomed that it would be this much of a misery to wait.

for now, imma be within the confinement of the SMSS grounds with alternating balik rumah every other week. I'll appreciate the balik bermalam weeks, and not forgetting to enjoy the last moments of my existence in SMSS :')

Basketball has been in my blood since I was 12 years old. I started making it a hobby when the soccer field in front of my house in Wangsa Maju section 6 started to get less visited by teenagers and children alike. Had it not been introduced by my old and beloved friends; Danial, Hanif, Nabil, Daniel Shukri, I would have not been the person that I am today.

When we imagine "Basketball" in our heads, the first things that appear will most probably be the basketball, basketball board and rim, and 10 people chasing after the ball on a court.

But if you ask the players, the players whom have a special place in their hearts for basketball, they will say that it is far more complex that it seems. Basketball is not just about getting the ball in the basket, it is not about how much you score, and it is definitely not about how fancy your lay-ups and shots are.

Basketball is about teamwork. Basketball is family. I myself don't think that I will do justice to this game with my definition of the game. It is truly far more than just a game.

I have been playing basketball for 6 years now. And I am proud to say that I have not felt bored at all. Even though the training is hard, blood & tears were shed, but it is such a pleasure once I have felt and experienced what my seniors felt when they contribute to their team's score. Oh how I will miss all the cheers and the hoo-ha from the supporters and the fury between the opposing teams.

This year, 2011, is my last year as a basketball player in Science Selangor, the part that hurts the most is that I will not able to join the annual "Kejohanan Bola Keranjang HKSBP" anymore, which is the big event for any SBP basketballers. HKSBP stands for Hari Kecemerlangan Sekolah Berasrama Penuh. It is an anticipated event for the basketballers in every boarding school that has basketball as an active sport.

This year, however, I attended my last HKSBP, which is the "KEJOHANAN BOLA KERANJANG HKSBP ZON TENGAH KALI KE-38 2011". This year, SBPI Sabak Bernam was the "tuan rumah". The journey took us about 3 hours because Sabak Bernam is located far inside Selangor and lies near to Teluk Intan, I think. Anyway, I could not make myself sleep like everyone else in the bus and decided to look through the bus window and see the places and things that I passed. God, the school was really far away from town. It was literally inside a "kelapa sawit" forest.

My first impression of the school was positive. It is huge, and unlike my school, it looked brand new. My contingent’s arrival was celebrated warmly with the fellow helpers of SBPISB. We unloaded our belongings from the bus and strutted to our respective dorms. Some of the girls from my team had to help the boys as they had to occupy their hands with our water supply for the games. Our teacher was kind enough to buy us revive, 100 plus and extra mineral water. Thank god for that because the weather there is different because I have been told that it is near the sea. During the day, it is mighty hot and during the night it is super cold.

My team was placed in dorm Aminah which is on the first floor and is next to the toilet. Pause, the dorms and the toilets there are amazing! They are clean and very nicely decorated. My teammates were all amazed at how much they had to do to decorate their hostel like that. It would've taken ages! Thumbs up to that! Right after choosing beds and settled our loads, we made our way into the dining hall and had tea with some local “kuihs”. At night, all contingents were gathered at the school hall for a briefing about our stay and the rules there.

SMSS SPARKS was placed in group F, together with KUSESS, SEMASHUR & SEPINTAR.

Our first game the next day was with KUSESS at 2.30pm, no one could imagine how nervous we were. Butterflies were already making a whole colony inside our stomachs. Sir Hafiz Zarfan, our beloved coach, arrived at 2am in the morning just to make it in time for our first game the next day. Despite his busy schedule and college assignments and etc, he came to be there for his team. Thanks sir! There were 2 basketball courts there, both newly painted. The surrounding there is all “kelapa sawit” like I mentioned earlier before. I frowned after looking at the wooden board, realizing the fact that most of my shots after this will not be smooth. (Wooden boards and the rims on them are bouncy) But hey, the fight must go on. SPARKS decided together that before any game, we were not supposed to eat. And yes, we did that with success. Because if we did, the gastric juices that are active when we're nervous would cause some serious stomach pain. Even horrifying, eating just before a game would cause us to be slower than usual. Sometimes all the running in the court could also make oneself throw out. We thought that it would be better not to eat than suffer the consequences that would affect our performance during the competition.

GROUPING

Below are the results for all of our games:-

We got 2^nd for grouping because of the 1 point defeat with SEMASHUR. I was so frustrated at that time, I was fouled out and I couldn’t do anything to help my team. I couldn’t bear watching my coach then, after all of the sacrifices that he made for us. I wouldn’t want to disappoint him more than anything. But I do owe SAS big time for cheering us out for that game. We lost with dignity, and that’s okay. That wasn’t the end of our journey, just yet.

The next day, were placed in a new group with INTEGOMB, SSP and SESERI for Quarter Finals.

QUARTER FINALS

Below are the results for our games:-

The game with INTEGOMB was, I could say, our worst game for the entire championship.

I couldn’t even watch the game, I have not seen our coach that upset and disappointed before .I was not sure what the problem was until we played the way we did. It was as if we never played before.

This was the game that proves most of us got carried away with our emotions. I’ve heard complains and doubts and fears of all sorts from my fellow teammates. To me, it is all in the state of mind. If you’re in fear more than you believe that you’ll win, then you’re in big trouble.

With the results that we attained, we were only capable of grabbing the 3^rd or 4^th place in the championship held this year. We were rallied up again with SEMASHUR to battle for the 3^rd place.

Driven with the willpower to defeat SEMASHUR (as our headmaster always claims that SEMASHUR is the best), we also wanted to repair our flaws and be better players, because as coach always say, “do not let your emotions conquer yourself during the game, use your brain.” And so every game I tried to remind myself to use my brain instead of my heart. But there’s this other thing I discovered after 5 years of experience, some people just work best with a particular person. If me, I think that I can perform best if the first fives are with me during a game. They can read and understand my game play very well, and we don’t have to depend so much on set plays because our fundamentals are fairly strong. Instead of doing all sorts of crazy signs that soon were obvious to the opposing team, we only had to played a bit with our eyes, and did little gestures to let our teammates know what we wanted to do and what we expected them to do to get the ball in the basket.

At the very last, after a very tough and competitive game, SMSS SPARKS succeeded in defeating SEMASHUR and earned the 3^rd place for the championship. Although we did not have the chance to represent ZON TENGAH for the nationals this May, we were happy enough because we knew that we gave it our all. Plus, we had so much fun and made a lot of friends during our 5-day stay in INTESABER.

As a senior this year, I doubt that I’ll ever forget this part of my life. HKs are the most anticipated time of the year for any basketballer <3 I’ll surely miss this, a lot.

To my juniors, carry this legacy on and may your spirits intensifies with time. Remember, “Success is not measured by your victories, but the recovery from your failures.” So please guys, do not repeat past mistakes. Show the recoveries form you past failures by being better and better. I have faith. Every time before a game, dedicate your performance to someone. That way, you’ll play with all your heart. But most of all, play for yourself, for all those hard work and because you purely love the game.

semuanya boleh mengukir senyuman yang penuh bermakna bg semua pemain basketball :)

Tahun ni SPARKS dah berjuang habis-habisan. Nasib malang, kitaorg dapat 3rd place and tak dapat nak mewakili zon tengah for kebangsaan this year. nevermind, rezeki bukan dkt sini.

banyak lagi kelemahan individu and secara kelompok yang nak kena dibaiki.

tahun ni problem yang nyata is that semua orang cepat down and emo.

sir pernah kata,

player yang star is a player yang is in control of his or her own emotions.

they play with their heart together with their brain.

without that, what u play on the court is just repetitions of your training and drills plus the common mistakes that u always do.

In the end, winning is not the main goal.

it's about having fun and giving it ur best shot.

Make sure that you make a good attempt, the rest you leave it to god to decide wether you're good enough to go or not.

SPARKS, how I will miss goofing around with all of you. sharing fears before we go to sleep at night, and waking up early in the morning because we have butterflies in our tummies; nervous.

how I will miss all of the scandals we collected during HK.

Basketball has taught me many things indeed.

without teamwork and determination, that team will never make it through the rain.

First and foremost,

it has been a while since I blogged.

Sorry.

Every time I hit the new post button, my mind just went blank.

Even this post took a while to emerge from my thoughts.

Anyhow;

There's always something about life that intrigues us.

Yet, there's also a million reasons to hate it.

It's like eating chocolate with a hard caramel centre.

It tastes like heaven but yet you get annoyed when it gets stuck between your teeth.

And then you'll hesitate to smile.

Yes.

In life you have to do some things that you don't want to.

Take a real example, ME.

I hate add maths, period.

I can't find why it is important for me to successfully be great at the subject when I won't even use it for my daily life at all.

But you see, I just have to.

No complains after that.

The less I complain, the faster it'll end.

it's just like hiking a great mountain. the climb's hard but yeah, the view is worth it.

Amazing.Breath-taking.Relaxing.Nice.Unusual.

are the kinds of words you would probably use to describe this tiny island.

mom and papa decided to take us here on the last leg of our holiday.

and huyooo we enjoyed ourselves!

close to nature, phones off, u get the picture.

The place where we stayed in (we checked out 2 hours ago) is called forra bamboo resort, fronting the padhaya beach (which is awesome), they have niceeee bamboo bungalows/chalets. the one which we stayed in has a loteng for ma and pa to sleep at. besttt.

the toliet! ahhh, open shower. meaning no roof la. but privacy is still assured *ehem

ohh and the sea! don't get me started! you can see ur legs in the water! it's dazzling-ly clear!

the coral reefs here is near the shore, providing home for thousands of colourful fish!

yeahh, we sempat snorkeling some more lah :D

dogs are everywhere here! they're like cats you see in kl, but only, they're dogs.

the people here are friendly too (:

it took me a lot of getting used to using the thai baht, coz the colours of the money are not familiar. ba haha.

so everytime i wanna pay something, the shop people will laugh at me.

yes, i take a long time to take out the money, *wanna make sure the notes are the right ones ;)

hehe

and then there's this pork thingy. yeah, it's a foreign country.

bacon is not beef anymore here.

it's pork.

but luckily, we are safe from it.

Sarah and I also had the oppurtunity to braid our hair here, well, not full head lah, but we love the colourful beads that's jingling on our hair right now :)

well there are more to tell but i'll leave the telling to the pics i am about to upload here as soon as i get back home.

still, can't believe that my perfect holiday is coming to an end.

i call it living life.

i am now currently trying to do all the things i want, according to my mood.

har har. and i'm supposed to go back to school today butttttt, what the heck lah. after the hard work jasmine, you need some time off. kill school just for one day.

i had loads of fun since i got home frm school on friday.

boredom never struck me. i know, i had a blessed weekend :)

i had fun with my grandparents and siblings. the next day i had another memorable outing with my mom and stepdad plus the "pain in the necks" (my siblings) -.-

and today i spent the whole day going around window shopping and eating sushi with my dad and the kids.

life is blissful.

and currently i'm reading can you keep a secret by sophie kinsella.

GAHAH. made me laugh and smile for all the right reasons.

and just for now though,

i hope that Danny could be happy too.

He's been on quite a rough journey lately.

i just hope that he's motivated.

GO DANNY GO!

we could BOTH do this thing.

i WANT to see you succeed in life.

i want us BOTH to have something to fall to.

and far more,

i WANT us to live to our utmost potential.

if you wanna know how stress really fells like,

wait until you get to upper form.

you may have the option of making form 4 a "honeymoon" year but,

SUFFER the consequences later on ;)

Seriously, I've never thought that the process of getting those darn straight As in upper form is gonna be THIS hard.

it's like there's sooo many stuff to digest into your brain at the same time.

i mean, damn, 3 papers for the elective subjects :0

buat bm pun boleh habis ink pen :S

and adik-adik,

if you think sejarah yang bulat-bulat tu pun susah,

wait until you have to write an essay.

I'm not saying this to freak anybody out.

HAHA i know it is a little bit early but yeah,

people plan,

and sadly(I think) I'm one of those people who plan very very early.

my friends and I have been saying to each other that we'll burn the midnight candle with studying if we have to.

because guys, we just realized that after SPM we have

6 BEAUTIFUL MONTHS OF HOLIDAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

HYPER IS THE PERFECT WORD

yesterday was my best friend's sweet sixteenth birthday ( 6th September 2010)

my best friend of almost 7 years now is well known for her hyperness.

bak kata mikhail raphil,

"penyakit dia turun kat adik dia"

haha kesian katelynn ada penyakit hyper kathryna.

tsk tsk, anddd ! she inherits the eveil smile too!

but both are pretty pretty girls :)

and both i love !

so,

today her family plus Mik,her boyfriend and of course me all went to TGI Fridays wangsa walk to break our fast/have dinner/birthday celebration there.

because of the fact that i can't drive yet, and that i have no transport at the time,

kath's older brother, ickie, had to pick me up from my atok's house.

when we got there, it was 7.15pm.

not long after that, we broke our fast with dates first as the meals haven't arrived yet.

after that, me, kathryna and her elder brother went to take the movie tickets i reserved.

mik and daniel went elsewhere. i secretly asked mik to get a cake frm secret recipe for kath later after everyone has finished eating as a dessert. so me and kath proceeded to TGV while the two boys went to "toilet" to get the cake. by the time that me and kath arrived back at the table, the food was there.

me, kath and mik had humongous burgers. yeah it was tasty but i couldn't finish it :(

earlier, mik seemed quiet. i know he is naturally quiet but i'm talking about like serious quiet.

so kath told me he's still guilty about what he did.

mik, if ur reading this, i'm okay lah. chill lah. as long as kath is happy then so am i :)

humans make mistakes. things like this makes us wiser and more mature.

and thanks, for working with me to kenekan kath! hahaha

then after everybody finished their meal, the tgi fridays staff came at our table and do their birthday routine.

they asked kath to stand on the chair and hahahaha she had to give a speech and sing a song and blow the candles far away :D but she managed to do all of that!

i hope you love your happy day as much as i did babe :)

and yeah, after that she tempek-ed the chocolate cream on my face. haha free facial ok!

then we took pictures lah!

after that everyone went back home.

me kath and mik stayed for the movie which was at 9.30pm.

so we had lebih kurang 1 hour or so to burn.

we walked around. kath had to buy plasters because her foot dah sakit. haha kath kath, degil.

then we went to the arcade. me and kath main game tembak2 (which was fun! , no kidding)

then we watched the movie,

we 3 managed to sit together in a couple seat :DD

the movie was GOING THE DISTANCE

18pl movie but we lepas! hahaha

serious shit kena doh tgk movie tu dgn a best friend or boy friend.

sumpah lawak. yes it is jiwang but lawak and the jokes hahaha original!

nahh takdela jiwang mana pun. but a must watch!

it finished at 11pm then we jalan2 and burn the hour with taking lots and lots of pictures.

by 12 ickie was there t pick us up and send me back home.

These are common scenes we see everywhere;

a man who ignores the "NO SMOKING" sign in schools and restaurants.

How about a husband who smokes while driving, his wife and children trapped inside with the smoke.

These smokers are either totally clueless about the effects of their behavior on others or, ~~they just don't care.~~

Even as they enjoy their nicotine fix, those around them are put at health risks from exposure to secondhand smoke.

While the focus of health ministries has always been on curbing smoking,

well, that's just another BULLSHIT.

or even an occasional window shopping will do the trick?

my god, just open your eyes,

there are a lot of ways to handle everything.

and why on earth do people choose the wrong and BAD WAY?!

i just don't get it.

and i think I never will.

until now, after doing researches and interviews and other shit,

i've realized that THERE IS NO ABSOLUTE RATIONAL AND GOOD ENOUGH REASON FOR A PERSON TO SMOKE THOSE DAMN CIGARETTES.

yes, i am angry. angry because cigarettes were created in the first place.

angry because it has affected the people i love so much.

angry of what it is doing to their healths and lives.

what shall i start with?

there is indeed to much to write.

i am still undecided on where to start.

what is actually the school's main purpose to alter everything?

to me, it is okay to change some things in hope to increase the school's performance.

but what if the changes are done ever so drastically?

you see, the main mover of the school is literally the students itself,

every school solely depend on their students to excel in every field.

so what i am trying to say is that,

without the student's support and cooperation and agreement of any changes or even programmes in school,

it will NEVER become a success.

so how do we actually make everything a success?

this requires a lot of time and precise planning.

first, the administration must include the student's opinion so that they feel as if they are a part of the school itself. without the students agreement, they will be rebellious. kids will be kids. no matter how educated they are, kids will still be kids. they need their freedom and fun too,

ALL WORK AND NO PLAY MADE JACK A DULL BOY.

so what is the point of making a vision and mission to produce all rounders?

when they pressurise students with a culture that is not practical,

they will rebel.

the administration needs a different approach to today's students,

AND , that is why leading schools like MCKK, STF, TKC have a body called THE STUDENT COUNCIL.

these bodies represent the students itself to improve the school's environment so that the students could perform at their utmost best.

what has SMSS done so far?

1. seperate boys and girls during prep hours

2. seperate the lockers

3. no eye contact with the opposite sex

4. if a guy wants to see someone of the opposite sex during prep hours, he can only speak behind a door a.k.a perjumpaan pintu

5. dinner is at 6.30 and everyone has to rush into the DM. kesian orang yang puasa kena duduk menonong waiting for the azan.

6. girls have to berjemaah on the basketball court in the asrama every zohor, asar, maghrib and isyak.

(imagine lah kan)

then what's the use of the rm20,000 peruntukan for the surau baru buat?

am dying to write about everything that is in my mind right now,

but somehow stuff just gets too crowded up here,

A LOT of things have happened for the past weeks.

trust me, joy,happiness,sadness,tears,

the weeks that have passed are full of them.

basketball zon pudu dah habis!

emm, we did well i supposed, well, MUCH BETTER than last year,

to tell you the truth, i am dead scared to even imagine what lies ahead for team SPARKS next year.

we will lose a lot of talented and devoted players whom i am proud to call my teammates and also my family (:
